Mountaineers softball season ends with a fourth-place finish at OCAA Championship

Mountaineers eliminated from medal contention by Hawks

(ETOBICOKE) – Mohawk Mountaineers softball had their playoff run come to an end at the hands of the Humber Hawks, losing 4-0. The loss means the Mountaineers place fourth overall at the 2023 OCAA Championship.
 
Chantal Tripp (Brampton, ON) got the start for Mohawk and pitched three innings, giving up three runs. Rachel Lee (Drayton, ON) came into the game in relief and also pitched three, giving up one run.
 
Offensively, the Mountaineers only managed two hits for the game.
 
The 2023 season was a major step forward for Mohawk's softball program, finishing the year with a 10-14 record and missing out on a provincial medal by just one game.
