Background:
Betty Calic began her coaching career with the Mohawk Mountaineers in 2010 as an assistant coach on Barry Macklin's staff. Calic spearheaded the women's team that season and guided them to an OCAA silver medal.

Only a year later Calic was named the head coach of the program, taking over for Macklin, who ultimately was the one that helped her find her passion for the sport of curling.

At Mohawk:

2012 Season:
Calic's first season with the Mountaineers was just the start of a lot of future success for the program, despite no OCAA medal in year one. At the OCAA Championship this season, the Mohawk men's team played to a 2-6 round robin record, while the women finished 2-2, only one win shy of a medal match. The Mountaineer men did earn the Ron Fearon Fair Play Award.

2013 Season:

2014 Season:

Calic earned her first OCAA Coach of the Year honour and assistant coach Matthew Kimber received the OCAA Mixed Doubles Coach of the Year award.

2023 Season:
