Satbir Singh, a Burlington, Ontario resident, joined Mohawk College's Department of Athletics and Recreation in the role of Sports Information Coordinator in 2021 after spending two years at Niagara This Week, a community newspaper in the Niagara Region where he worked as a reporter and photographer.

Singh graduated from Brock University in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Labour Studies. While studying at Brock, Singh infused himself into the Badgers' athletics program with his news coverage of the sports teams. In his first year, he became a Staff Writer for the campus newspaper and by the second year he was the Sports Editor followed by Editor-in-Chief in his final three years on campus.

During his time studying in St. Catharines, Ontario, Singh was also a broadcast commentator for the student organization BrockTV. He worked for BrockTV for three years covering the Badgers with play-by-play and colour commentary across many sports, including basketball, volleyball, hockey, lacrosse and soccer.

Singh also held multiple freelance positions over the last decade, that included covering the Toronto Raptors for RaptorsHQ.com and providing game recap stories for Brock's Athletics Department.

As Sports Information Coordinator at Mohawk, Singh helped with the rollout of the departments rebrand in 2023, which included a redesign of the Athletics and Recreation website. He also assisted with the planning and execution of the 2023 CCAA Women's Basketball National Championship hosted at Mohawk.

Other initiatives taken under Singh to advance the department include:

  • Partnership with Cable 14 to broadcast a handful of Mountaineers games on the local Hamilton, Ontario cable channel.
  • Launch of the Mountaineers Sports Network radio show, partnered with the Mohawk Radio Program.
Singh is also a member of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association marketing committee, a position he has held for two-years.
