Mountaineers conclude 2024 season with loss to Royals

ANCATSER, Ont. – Mohawk Mountaineers men's soccer fell to the Redeemer Royals 6-0 to conclude the 2024 regular season.
 
The Mountaineers had five shots on goals, with Christopher Tavares (Milton, Ont.) leading the way with two, but none could find the back of the net.
 
Redeemer scored one of their six goals in first half with the other five all coming in the final 45 minutes.
 
Mohawk concludes the season with a 1-8-1 record and eight consecutive losses. They still earned a playoff spot as the OCAA west division eight seed.
 
The Mountaineers will matchup versus the Humber Hawks in the opening round of playoffs taking place on Oct. 16. Kick-off the match is still to be determined with Humber as the host team.
