Mountaineers lose backend of road trip to Saints

WINDSOR, Ont. – On the backend of a back-to-back road trip the Mohawk Mountaineers women's soccer team fell to the St. Clair Saints 4-1.
 
The Mountaineers took advantage first with a 19th minute goal by Emily Schwarz (Stoney Creek, Ont.); her first of the season. However, the Saints would even it up just before half.
 
Tired legs would become a factor in the second half as Mohawk gave up three goals, two of which came seven minutes a part early in the half.
 
St. Clair controlled much of the match with a plus-six advantage in shots and plus-five on corner kicks.
 
The Mountaineers are now 1-1 and will host the Conestoga Condors for their next match. Action will take place on Sept. 14 at 1 p.m., and the match will be played at St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary.
