Background:
Mihai Raducanu was named the ninth head coach in Mountaineers women's basketball history on June 14, 2022. 

Raducanu has extensive knowledge coaching and training basketball across the globe. He was the director of Ganon Baker NBA Pre-Draft Camps in 2017 and 2018, and has been the director of UBE Talent Prospect Camps in Europe.

Prior to Coaching:
Raducanu is a former NCAA D1 athlete from Coastal Carolina and played for the Canadian National Junior Team. 

Before taking his talents down south, Raducanu graduated from Cathedral High School in Hamilton. 


At Mohawk:

2022-23 Season:
In his first season as Mountaineers head coach, Raducanu improved the program by two wins versus the season prior. Mohawk would finish 5-11 record and place eighth in the OCAA West Division.

The Mountaineers would lose 69-53 to the Algonquin Wolves in the first round of the OCAA Playoffs.

Mohawk received a spot to the 2022-23 CCAA National Women's Basketball Championship Tournament as the host site. They would lose all three tournament games. 

2023-24 Season:
Raducanu would continue to improve the Mohawk program, this time by seven wins, as the Mountaineers finished the year 12-4 and tied for the thrid-best record in the OCAA West Division. 

Mohawk would win its first playoff game under Raducanu's guidance when they defeated the Loyalist Lancers 90-38 in the OCAA Playoff Qualifier. The Mountaineers playoff run came to an end in the quarter-final round at the hands of the Wolves once again. 

The Mountaineers appeared in the CCAA National Rankings three times, ranking as high as 10th.
