Double gold for Mountaineers at Fanshawe Invitational

Two individual medals for Mohawk

(LONDON) – Mohawk Mountaineers men's cross country placed first place for the second consecutive OCAA invitational of 2023 and the Mohawk women's team joined them on top of the podium.

For the women it was an improved finish after placing second a week ago in the opening race of the season.

Ava Snyder (Burlington, ON), who as an individual placed third in the first race, showed improvement with a second-place finish at the Fanshawe Invitational. Annie Sterenberg (Vineland, ON) joined her teammate in the top-five, finishing fourth.

Zoe Thibault (Grimsby, ON) just missed the top-10 with an 11^th place finish and Brooklyn Skoog (Brantford, ON) topped out at 17^th. Jordynne Kinrade (Brantford, ON) represented Mohawk by placing 24^th, Jovana Rivera (Montreal, QC) finished 32^nd and Paola Gomez (Colombia) placed 47^th.

For the men it was another podium finish for Sage Sulentic (Dundas, ON), who placed second once again. Two other Mountaineers finished in the top-10 with Albert Lanting (Caledonia, ON) placing eighth and Matias Tessel (Guelph, ON) completing the race in ninth.

Other finishes for Mohawk included Yassin Saleh (Hamilton, ON) at 13^th, Will Summers (Hamilton, ON) placing 22^nd and Tyler Karl (Collingwood, ON) finishing at 33^rd.

The Mountaineers will compete in the Centennial Invitational next on Oct. 14 before prepping for the OCAA Championship.
