HAMILTON, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers cross country teams have earned national recognition in the first Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rankings of the season, with the men's team ranked No. 3 and the women's team ranked No. 7.
The men's team sits behind two RSEQ programs and holds the highest national ranking among Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) schools. Their strong start follows a first-place finish at last week's season-opening OCAA Invitational.
The women's team also impressed, placing second overall at the same meet and earning the second-highest national ranking among OCAA teams.
In 2024, the Mountaineers reached as high as No. 5 nationally on the men's side and No. 2 for the women.
Both teams return to action this weekend as Mohawk hosts an OCAA Invitational at Marydale Park in Mount Hope, Ont. The women's race begins at 11 a.m., followed by the men's race at noon.
Mohawk will also host the 2025 OCAA Cross Country Championships on Oct. 25, once again at Marydale Park.
