(NORTH BAY) – Mohawk Mountaineers men's basketball made easy work in North Bay, defeating the Canadore Panthers 98-55.
The Mountaineers started off with some hot shooting, outscoring the Panthers 40-18 in the first quarter. During the opening 10 minutes Mohawk shot 63.2 per cent from the field.
In the second quarter the dominance continued with the Mountaineers once again outscoring the Panthers and going into halftime leading 65-24.
Mohawk and Candore played even basketball in the second half as the Mountaineers held on for the 43-points win.
Jerry Jr. Mercury (Scarborough, ON) led the Mountaineers in scoring for the third time this season with 20 points and added eight rebounds.
Cale Calura (Hamilton, ON) added 15, and off the bench
Marko Dosen (Hamilton, ON) scored 11, while
Iverson Chong (Oakville, ON) and
Charlie Hennessy (Windsor, ON) respectively each put up 10.
Mohawk will now gear up for Super Saturday on Nov. 4 when they host the Redeemer Royals at 3 p.m.
