Mountaineers lose a pair over the weekend

Mohawk off to tough start in 2023-24 season

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 (HAMILTON) – It was a tough weekend for Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball, who started with a 3-0 (18-25, 27-29, 19-25) loss in Windsor to the St. Clair Saints and ended with a 3-0 (17-25, 21-25, 14-25) loss to the Fanshawe Falcons in Hamilton.

Oct. 27 – Mohawk vs. St. Clair

Mohawk kept all three sets close, particularly the second set that needed additional play but the Mountaineers ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard.

Dean Zicari (Burlington, ON) had a strong performance with 11 kills in the match. Defensively, Joel Sloots (Hamilton, ON) had 11 digs.

Oct. 28 – Mohawk vs. Fanshawe

In the match versus last years OCAA silver medalling team, Mohawk kept it close in the first two sets but could not get over the hump. The third set was all Falcons.

Sloots and Zicari both had a team-leading nine kills in the match.

Mohawk will next host the Fanshawe Falcons for Super Saturday on Nov. 4. The match will be played at 8 p.m.
