(ANCASTER) – Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball won their second consecutive match in five sets with a 3-2 (18-25, 25-17, 20-25, 30-28, 15-12) victory over the Redeemer Royals.
The Mountaineers had a tough go in the first set, but evened the match at one set apiece with a convincing second set win.
After losing the third set and being on the brink of a loss, Mohawk played a tight fourth set which required extra play. The Mountaineers would pull through and extend the match by winning the set 30-28.
The Royals would have the early lead in the fifth set, but Mohawk chipped away and found themselves on the winning side of the match.
Alex Jurak (St. Catharines, ON) once again led the Mountaineers with 14 kills and three blocks.
Up next for Mohawk is a home matchup versus the Sheridan Bruins on Nov. 22 at 8 p.m.
