Mountaineers win streak ends at three; lose to Knights

Mohawk drops back to .500 record

WELLAND – Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball had their win streak stopped at three following a 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 21-25, 20-25) loss to the Niagara Knights.
 
The Mountaineers stuck around in the first set, ultimately losing by two points. A bounce back second set by Mohawk evened the match at 1-1.
 
It was relatively close in the third and fourth sets, but the Mountaineers could not rally enough points to keep the match going.
 
Turner Neame (Hamilton, ON) set a personal season-high with 23 digs. Jashae Lawrence (Calgary, AB) was also a factor defensively with 15 digs.
 
Offensively, Dean Zicari (Burlington, ON) had 12 kills and Joel Sloots added 11.
 
Mohawk will be host to the Conestoga Condors for their next match on Nov. 29 at 8 p.m.
