Mountaineers lose road matchup to Knights

Mohawk has now lost three of last five

WELLAND – Mohawk Mountaineers women's volleyball lost in four sets to the Niagara Knights, 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 15-25, 20-25).
 
Defensively the Mountaineers received strong performances with Sofia Spoljar (Hamilton, ON) having a team-high 14 digs, while Thea Spasic (Hamilton, ON) and Lexie Zicari (Burlington, ON) both had 10 each.
 
It was a close first set between the two teams, but the Knights took the early advantage. Mohawk would bounce back in set two, but the momentum would not carry throughout the rest of the match.
 
Zicari also had a team-best nine kills in the match.
 
Mohawk will closeout the first half of the season ahead of the holiday break on Nov. 29 when they host the Conestoga Condors at 6 p.m.
