Box Score HAMILTON – The No. 15 nationally ranked Mohawk Mountaineers got back into the win column following a 104-91 victory over the Sheridan Bruins.

With the win the Mountaineers improve to 8-3 on the season.

It was a physical battle between Mohawk and Sheridan with the contest finishing with a combined 51 fouls.

The Mountaineers led for the entirety of the game, jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the opening quarter. Mohawk would lead as high as 11 before closing out the first quarter with a 24-16 advantage.

Mohawk would break things open in the second quarter, scoring 33 points on 56 per cent shooting. Sheridan also shot 50 per cent from the field that quarter, but the Mountaineers played tough on the boards, outrebounding the Bruins 11-6.

Sheridan would begin to pushback in the third quarter, cutting Mohawk's 21-point lead down to 14 prior to the final quarter.

The fourth quarter went back and forth offensively, but again it was the Mountaineers success on the glass that guided them to the win. Mohawk won the rebounding battle in the final 10 minutes by plus-five and held the Bruins to zero offensive rebounds.

Six Mountaineers finished in double-digit scoring led by a game-high 19 off the bench from Marko Dosen (Hamilton, ON), who picked up his first career double-double with 14 rebounds. Both Iverson Chong and Michael Barry came off the bench as well to provide 18 and 14, respectively.
