Mohawk and Algonquin meet for second time in three years

HAMILTON – The Mohawk Mountaineers and Algonquin Wolves are set to meet in the OCAA women's volleyball playoffs for the second time in three years.

The Matchup:

Mohawk enters the playoffs squeezing into the OCAA West division fourth seed with an 11-7 record, earning themselves a home postseason game. The Mountaineers have medaled in two consecutive seasons and are only two years removed from an OCAA Championship appearance.

Algonquin finished the regular season 9-9, placing them fifth in the OCAA East division. The Wolves struggled this season versus the top-four east teams, going winless in eight matches.

Previous Matchup and History:

The Mountaineers and Wolves last met in the 2021-22 OCAA quarterfinal match with Mohawk coming away with a 3-0 victory.

Dating back to the 2000-01 season, Mohawk and Algonquin have met in the conference playoffs six times with the Mountaineers winning the last five matchups.
