Mountaineers handed first loss of the season by Condors

HAMILTON, Ont. – For the first time this season Mohawk Mountaineers men's soccer was unable to pickup a point as they fell to the Conestoga Condors, 2-1.
 
All the action took place in the second half starting with Conestoga taking the 1-0 lead.
 
Shortly after Bao Phan (Hamilton, Ont.) scored his first career OCAA goal for Mohawk to bring the match even.
 
The Condors would immediately respond to get the lead back, and go up 2-1.
 
For the match Conestoga held the shot advantage as well, 11-5.
 
Next, Mohawk will take on the Niagara Knights on Sept. 15 at Tim Hortons Field. Game time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
 
Prior to the match versus the Knights, the Mohawk Athletics Department will be celebrating the 1989 Mountaineers men's soccer team with a ring ceremony. November 11, 2024 will mark the 35 year anniversary of the 1989 team winning the CCAA Championship.
