CAMBRIDGE, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers men's soccer team saw their season come to an end Saturday with a 4-0 loss to the nationally ranked No. 10 Conestoga Condors in the OCAA quarterfinals.
Mohawk reached the quarterfinal round for the first time since 2016 but couldn't find the back of the net against a strong Conestoga side.
The match remained scoreless through the early stages of the first half before the Condors opened the scoring in the 29th minute and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Conestoga doubled its advantage just two minutes into the second half and added a third in the 61st minute before sealing the win with a fourth goal in stoppage time.
The Mountaineers were outshot 24-2 in the match.
Despite the loss, the 2025 campaign marked a positive step forward for Mohawk. The team finished higher than seventh in the OCAA West Division for the first time since 2021 and earned its first playoff win in nine years.
