WELLAND, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers men's soccer team closed out their 2025 season with a 1-1 draw against the Niagara Knights on Wednesday.
With the result, Mohawk finished the regular season with a 1-4-5 record. It marks the first time since 2021 that the Mountaineers have placed higher than seventh in the OCAA West Division.
Niagara opened the scoring in the 69th minute, but Mohawk answered just two minutes later when Emidio Refosco (Hamilton, Ont.) netted his second goal of the season to level the match.
The Mountaineers have secured a playoff berth and will compete in the OCAA crossover round on Oct. 15. They will await final standings this weekend to determine their opponent from the East Division.
