Mountaineers lose road contest to Hawks

VAUGHAN, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 road match to the Humber Hawks on Wednesday.
 
The first half was evenly played, with Humber holding a 5-4 edge in shots. Mohawk earned two corner kicks while the Hawks had none.
 
Humber pressed in the second half, outshooting Mohawk 14-3 and breaking through in the 57th minute for the game's lone goal.
 
The Mountaineers return to action Sept. 27 when they host the Conestoga Condors at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
