Mountaineers begin annual Bernetta Scime Holiday Toy Drive

All proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club Hamilton-

HAMILTON - The annual Bernetta Scime Holiday Toy Drive organized and spearheaded by Mohawk Mountaineers student-athletes is underway.

Mohawk's Department of Athletics and Recreation has organized the toy drive for a number of years in support of a local Hamilton charity or organization during the holiday season. This year all proceeds will be provided to the Boys and Girls Club Hamilton-Halton branch.

For this student-athlete led initiative to be a success, Athletics is once again asking for the support of our college partners, friends in the community and families of our athletes.

Located in Hamilton, the Boys and Girls Club Hamilton-Halton is a leading provider of quality programs for children, youth, adults and families. They offer transformative experiences that are affordable, accessible, and reliable with a focus on learning and skills development.

The toy drive will be ongoing until December 14. Donations can be dropped off to R105 in the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre (DBARC) – located at the bottom of the stairs across from the main gymnasium – or to the DBARC front desk.

While admission to Mohawk varsity home games is free, the request is for spectators to donate prior to entering the DBARC gymnasium, if possible. Upcoming home game dates include:

Volleyball on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Volleyball on Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Basketball on Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Basketball on Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
