MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Both Mohawk Mountaineers curling teams remained undefeated after Day 2 of the OCAA Championships on Thursday, earning wins over the Humber Hawks and Durham Lords.

The men's and women's teams improved to 3-0 and are the only perfect teams left in their respective divisions, officially clinching spots in the OCAA semifinals.

The Mohawk men opened the day with a comeback victory over Humber. After a blank first end, the Mountaineers trailed 3-0 through three ends. Mohawk picked up single points in the fourth and fifth to pull within one. Following a blank sixth end, the Mountaineers scored two in the seventh and added one more in the eighth to secure a 5-3 win.

In their second draw, Mohawk built a commanding 8-0 lead after three ends against Durham. The Lords responded with two points in the fourth and three in the fifth to cut the deficit to 8-5. The Mountaineers sealed the win with single points in the sixth and seventh to earn a 10-5 victory.

On the women's side, Mohawk also rallied to defeat Humber. The Mountaineers trailed 4-0 after three ends before scoring four in the fourth to tie the game. Humber regained a one-point edge in the sixth, but Mohawk responded with two points in both the seventh and eighth ends to claim an 8-5 win.

In their second game, Mohawk fell behind 1-0 to Durham in the opening end but responded to take a 4-1 lead through four. The Lords closed the gap with two points in the fifth, before the Mountaineers scored three in the sixth and closed out the game in the seventh for a 9-3 victory.

Round-robin play wraps up Friday. Mohawk will face the Sault Cougars at 10 a.m. before taking on the Niagara Knights at 2 p.m. at the Dixie Curling Centre.
