HAMILTON, Ont. – Former Mohawk Mountaineers men's basketball student-athlete Stefan Anisko has signed a professional contract with the Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Anisko played the 2022-23 season with Mohawk before transferring to the Cape Breton Capers of U Sports, competing in Atlantic University Sport.
In his lone season with the Mountaineers, Anisko helped the program capture an OCAA bronze medal. He was named Mohawk's Outstanding Male Freshman Athlete of the Year and earned OCAA All-Rookie Team recognition, while also being selected as the OCAA Sixth Man of the Year.
Anisko averaged 20 points per game in 15 appearances, shooting 51.2 per cent from the field and 40 per cent from three-point range.
Following his time at Mohawk, Anisko spent three seasons with Cape Breton, earning AUS First Team All-Star honours this past season.
Anisko becomes the second Mountaineer to be drafted or sign a contract in the CEBL, joining Jerry Jr. Mercury, who became the first CCAA player selected in the league's draft in 2024 by the Niagara River Lions.
