Box Score (HAMILTON) – Mohawk Mountaineers women's soccer delivered an impressive performance against the Lambton Lions, securing their third win of the season with a final score of 9-0.
As of Friday night, the Mountaineers have the most victories in the OCAA west division and are tied in points for first-place.
Mohawk commenced the game with a powerful start, maintaining their dominance throughout, leading them to victory.
The match kicked off with Jaiden Morgan (Burlington, ON) scoring two goals in the second and 14th minutes, establishing an early 2-0 lead.
Shortly after, Anyssa Jurcic (Ancaster, ON) found the net in the 23rd minute, followed by Aliya Cardona (Stoney Creek, ON) in the 25th minute, assisted by Morgan.

Cupiraggi scored her second of the match in the second minute of the second half, assisted once again by Morgan, who continued her scoring spree with goals in the 62nd and 69th minutes. Morgan would tally five goals and two assists for the match.
"It's all about the team", Morgan said. "Yes, I worked hard and did what I had to do but it's all about the team at the end of the day. We did a great job."
Cupiraggi, Cardona and Jurcic all scored their first goals of the season.
"It was a good game," said head coach Paul Giannini. "It's hard to stay focused in games sometimes when you score a bunch of goals, but it gave us an opportunity to rest some players for tomorrow."
The Mountaineers are back in action Sept. 23 at St. John Henry Newman where they'll host the St. Clair Saints. Game kicks off at 1 p.m. and will be available on OCAA Live.
