Playoff Preview: Mountaineers and Condors meet for third time this year

HAMILTON, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers women's soccer team will matchup versus the Conestoga Condors in the OCAA qualifying round, marking the third time this season the two teams will meet.
 
Action will take place on Oct. 16 in Cambridge, Ont. with kick-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
 
The Matchup:
 
Mohawk enters the 2024 conference playoffs as the OCAA west division fifth seed and Conestoga is the fourth seed. The Condors finished two points better to earn the home-field advantage.
 
The Mountaineers concluded the season with a 4-4-2 record. While two of Mohawk's losses came in their final three games, their performance improved as the season progressed. After a slow 1-2 start to the season, the Mountaineers were 3-2-2 in their next seven matches.
 
Conestoga had a small hiccup in the middle of their season, resulting in three straight losses, as they finished the year 5-4-1.
 
Last Meeting:
 
The two teams split a pair of matches this season with the Condors winning the first game 2-1 and the Mountaineers coming out victorious 3-1 in game two. Each game favoured the road team.
 
Mia Hadley started both games in net for Mohawk, making a combined seven saves.
 
All four of the Mountaineers goals versus the Condors this season were scored by four different athletes.
 
The last time these two teams met in the playoffs was the 2017 season with Mohawk coming out on top 2-0.
