Introducing the 2025 Mountaineers High School Academy

HAMILTON, Ont. – The Mohawk College Department of Athletics and Recreation is excited to announce the launch of the Mountaineers High School Academy.

This summer academy, designed for high school students, offers a unique training opportunity with weekly sessions from May 5 to July 24 for those passionate about basketball or volleyball.

The 12-week program will run in two-hour sessions. The first hour will focus on skills training led by Mohawk coaches and student-athletes, while the second hour will be a fitness lift, guided by Mohawk's strength and conditioning coaches.

All sessions will be held at Mohawk College's David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre (135 Fennell Ave. W, Hamilton, Ontario).

Program Details:

Men's Basketball:

Dates: May 8 – July 24, 2025
Day: Every Thursday | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Cost: $400 plus tax (Academy t-shirt included)

Women's Basketball:

Dates: May 7 – July 23, 2025
Day: Every Wednesday | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Cost: $400 plus tax (Academy t-shirt included)

Men's Volleyball:

Dates: May 5 – July 21, 2025
Day: Every Monday | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Cost: $400 plus tax (Academy t-shirt included)

Women's Volleyball:

Dates: May 6 – July 22, 2025
Day: Every Tuesday | 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Cost: $400 plus tax (Academy t-shirt included)
