Mountaineers sweep home opener over Golden Shield

Mohawk puts on strong performance in front of home crowd

Box Score (HAMILTON) – It was a home opener sweep for Mohawk Mountaineers women's volleyball over the Cambrian Golden Shield, winning 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-18).

The Mountaineers showed dominance in all three sets, taking commanding leads in each for the victory.

Thea Spasic (Hamilton, ON) shined in her first-ever OCAA match with 10 kills.

Rachel Vanderwal (Hamilton, ON) led Mohawk with 11 kills, meanwhile Chelsea Vanderwal (Waterdown, ON) had 29 assists for the match.

Mohawk will be right back in action on Oct. 21 when they host the Boreal Vipers at 1 p.m. inside the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre at Mohawk College.
