Mountaineers score late; draw No. 1 Hawks

Hamza Salman scores third of the season

Box Score (ETOBICOKE) – Mohawk Mountaineers men's soccer found the back of the net in the 80^th minute to draw the No. 1 nationally ranked Humber Hawks 1-1.

The first half ended scoreless as goalkeeper Oliver Steinke (Dundas, ON) continued to have a strong start to his 2023 campaign.

Humber would strike early in the first half, but Hamza Salman (Hamilton, ON) scored his third of the season to tie it.

The Mountaineers are now 1-1-1 to begin the 2023 year.

Action continues for Mohawk on Sept. 22 when they host the Lambton Lions at St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School. Game begins at 8 p.m.
