Mountaineers swept on the road by Condors

Box Score KITCHENER, Ont. – For the second time this season Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball has lost two in a row following a 3-0 (15-25, 23-25, 12-25) loss to the Conestoga Condors.

Sandwiched in between the losing streaks are two victories, which puts the Mountaineers record at 2-4 six games into the 2024-25 season.

In the contest versus Conestoga, Mohawk found themselves trailing 11-1 in the first set. The Mountaineers got within eight-points a couple times in the set, but never truly made up the deficit to fall behind 1-0 in the match.

Set two was a much more event contest until the Condors took a 14-10 lead. Mohawk found a way to stop the Conestoga momentum to bring it back to even at 15-15. But after being tied 18-18, it was the Condors who took control to take a 21-18 lead. The Mountaineers got within one at 24-23, but they could not keep it going as they fell behind 2-0 in the match.

The start of set three was similar to the first set as Mohawk trailed Conestoga 13-4. The Mountaineers could not bounce back from that deficit and ultimately lost the match in three sets.

Mohawk will look to get back in the win column on Nov. 9 when they host the Sheridan Bruins at 8 p.m.
