Mountaineers mixed doubles curling dominate at Niagara Bonspiel

WELLAND, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers mixed doubles curling team played to a perfect 3-0 record at the Niagara Bonspiel. Mohawk's women's team also participated at the invitational, winning one of three games.

The mixed doubles team defeated the Niagara Knights-2 by a score of 14-2, followed by an 11-7 victory over the Knights-1, and the perfect day concluded with an 8-5 win over the Fanshawe Falcons.

For the Mohawk women's team, the day started with a 12-1 loss to the Falcons and a 10-4 defeat at the hands of the Knights. However, the Mountaineers bounced back to win 11-2 over the Fleming Phoenix.

This was Mohawk's final exhibition bonspiel ahead of the OCAA Championships, which take place February 5-9 in Hamilton, Ont., at the Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club.
