HAMILTON, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers are excited to announce Davide Massafra as the new head coach of the men's soccer program.
Massafra has quickly established himself as a key figure in Hamilton's soccer community, recently being appointed Technical Director for Mount Hamilton United. With extensive experience both provincially and internationally, he is poised to bring a wealth of knowledge to the Mountaineers.
"I'm thrilled to take the reins of the Mohawk men's soccer program," said Massafra. "Our focus will be on moving forward, fostering a team-first mentality, and cultivating a winning culture."
"I am proud to represent such a wonderful educational institution as my father-in-law was a graduate of Mohawk," added Massafra.
Before joining Mount Hamilton United, Massafra played an integral role at St. Catharines Roma starting in 2020, where he held multiple positions and became well-known in the Niagara soccer community. His international experience includes stints in Italy and the United States, where he served as Technical Director for Empire United, a member of the MLS Elite Youth Development Platform.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Massafra to the Mohawk family and look forward to a new era for Mountaineers men's soccer under his leadership," said Matthew Ferreira, Director of Athletics and Recreation. "His extensive experience and deep knowledge of the game will bring fresh energy and a strong foundation for success."
Massafra holds a Technical Director Diploma from Ontario Soccer and a B-level coaching license from Canada Soccer. He becomes the ninth head coach in the history of Mohawk men's soccer.
