HAMILTON, Ont. – Mohawk Mountaineers men's basketball head coach Jamie Girolametto is pleased to announce the addition of Amadis McKay to the 2025-26 roster, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the team.
Originally from Winnipeg, MB, McKay has competed in both the OCAA and OUA, previously playing for the Fanshawe Falcons and Carleton Ravens.
"All I've heard from different references is that he's a locker room guy, a true leader, and a real glue guy," said Girolametto. "For him to join us and enroll in a three-year program shows that he's fully invested in our culture, and I couldn't ask for more."
Girolametto added that McKay having spent a season with Carleton is invaluable experience in terms of championship mentality.
McKay, a 5'10 guard, is known for his tenacious defence and ability to control the floor at point guard. He spent two seasons with the Fanshawe Falcons between 2021-2023, appearing in 26 games, before transferring to the Ravens for one season.
McKay will begin his studies in the Advertising and Marketing Communication Management program at Mohawk this September.
