Mohawk women’s soccer announces seven recruit commitments

HAMILTON, Ont. – Mohawk Mountaineers women's soccer head coach Paul Giannini has announced the commitment of seven student-athletes ahead of the 2026 season.

Entering his sixth season at the helm of the program, Giannini unveils one of the largest recruiting classes of his tenure.

2026 WOMEN'S SOCCER RECRUITING CLASS 

Cylie Monteiro
Hometown: Cambridge, Ont.
High School: Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary
Position: Central Midfielder
Program: Business Administration – Marketing
Club Team: Cambridge United L1 U20
 
Why did you choose Mohawk?
"Mohawk has a great business program with a co-op option. There is a lot of support for student-athletes, and the coaching staff and team are very welcoming and encouraging."
 
Emily Walraven
Hometown: Burlington, Ont.
High School: King's Christian Collegiate
Position: Central Midfielder
Program: Business Fundamentals
Club Team: Burlington Force
 
Post-Secondary Career:
Emily joins Mohawk after competing with the Redeemer Royals from 2022 to 2025. She was named an OCAA West Division second-team all-star in 2023 and earned first-team honours in both 2024 and 2025.
Over her career, she appeared in 36 matches for the Royals, recording 12 goals and nine assists.

Kaylee Peterson
Hometown: Niagara Falls, Ont.
High School: Saint Michaels Catholic Secondary
Position: Midfielder
Program: General Arts & Science
Club Team: Oakville Rush
 
What is your goal as a post-secondary student-athlete?
"To become the best version of myself."
 
Amie Adili
Hometown: Milton, Ont.
High School: Bishop P.F. Reding Catholic Secondary School
Position: Central Midfielder
Program: Business Fundamentals
Club Team: Dixie Soccer Club & Burlington Force
 
Why did you choose Mohawk?
"I chose Mohawk because coach Paul is an amazing coach and person. I wouldn't want to play soccer for anyone else."
 
Erica D'Alesio
Hometown: Hamilton, Ont.
High School: St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School
Position: Fullback / Midfielder
 
Post-Secondary Career:
Erica spent three seasons at the OUA level with the Brock University Badgers, appearing in 30 matches. During her time with the Badgers, she scored five goals. She also earned U Sports Academic All-Canadian honours while at Brock.
 
Alivia Rattray
Hometown: Hamilton, Ont.
High School: St. Jean de Brebeuf Catholic Secondary School
Position: Midfielder
Program: Business Marketing
Club: Ancaster Legacy Football Club
 
Career Highlights:
In 2025, Alivia was a standout player for the Ancaster Legacy Football Club, earning MVP for the U17 team. She also received the golden boot for scoring 20 goals.
 
Mya Peicuch
Hometown: Dundas, Ont.
High School: Dundas Valley Secondary School
Position: Goalkeeper
Program: Business Administration
Club Team: Hamilton United
 
Why did you choose Mohawk?
"Both my parents attended Mohawk, and I liked the opportunity o continue to play soccer and attend a program I'm passionate about."
