Mountaineers Softball secures first commitment for 2025 recruiting class

HAMILTON, Ont. – Mohawk Mountaineers women's softball head coach Chris McColl announced the program's first commitment for the 2025 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon.

Grace Purdy, locally from Hamilton, Ont., has committed to the Mountaineers and plans to study Police Foundations at Mohawk College.

"Grace is an athlete we have been watching for some time, and we're thrilled she has chosen to join the softball program at Mohawk," said McColl. "She brings a strong work ethic, a fierce competitive drive, and a team-first mentality that will help elevate the program in 2025 and beyond."

A 5'7 outfielder, Purdy comes to the Mountaineers from the Oakville Angels '06 team.

Purdy will be graduating from Nora Frances Henderson Secondary before beginning her studies at Mohawk in September 2025.
