Mountaineers snap losing streak with home win

Box Score HAMILTON, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers women's volleyball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-0 home win over the Boreal Vipers.

It was Boreal who got out to a good start with a 4-1 lead in the first set, but Mohawk would proceed to score 18 of the next 20 points for a 19-6 advantage. The Mountaineers would close out the set 25-10.

Set two began even with an 11-11 tie, but again Mohawk went on a run to score 14 of the next 16 points to win the set 25-13 and go up 2-0 in the match.

The Mountaineers concluded the match in set three with a 25-5 victory.

Jaidyn Rattray (Hamilton, Ont.) led Mohawk with seven kills and Olivia Rosewell (Hamilton, Ont.) provided six kills.

The Mountaineers will be right back in action tomorrow (Jan. 25) when they host the Cambrian Shield at 1 p.m.
