Mountaineers home opener spoiled by Golden Shield

Mohawk drops match in four sets to Cambrian

Box Score (HAMILTON) – Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball began to find their stride in the third set versus the Cambrian Golden Shield, but it wasn't enough, losing 3-1 (18-25, 17-25, 25-15, 14-25).

Despite the scoreboard the Mountaineers did find momentum throughout the match to begin the 2023 season.

Alex Jurak (St. Catharines, ON) had an impressive OCAA debut with 14 kills for Mohawk. Noah Bouchard (Oakville, ON) and Cole Crowder (Milton, ON) split the setting duties for the Mountaineers, finishing with 13 and 17 assists, respectively.

Mohawk is right back in action on Oct. 21 when they host the Boreal Vipers at 3 p.m. inside the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre at Mohawk College.
