Mountaineers lose tough contest to Bruins

Second quarter was the difference for Mohawk

Box Score BRAMPTON – Mohawk Mountaineers men's basketball has now lost two of their last three following a 101-93 defeat at the hands of the Sheridan Bruins.

It was a close contest throughout the game, but the difference was in the second quarter with the Bruins outscoring the Mountaineers by seven before halftime.

Mohawk made multiple runs in the second half, but none were enough to take a lead. In the fourth quarter the Mountaineers got the Bruins lead down to one point twice – once at the 4:50 mark and again at 3:23 – but Sheridan would answer back to grow their lead again.

Jerry Jr. Mercury (Scarborough, ON) had a monster game once again with 29 points and 17 rebounds. Jailen Jackson (Hamilton, ON) added 13, and off the bench Mohawk received 11 points from Anthony Ragonetti and 10 from Harpreet Gill (Brampton, ON).

Mohawk will be in action again on Dec. 1 when they host the Lambton Lions at 6 p.m.
