HAMILTON – Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball played a strong match versus the No. 9 nationally ranked St. Clair Saints, ultimately losing in four sets (18-25, 25-19, 21-25, 16-25).
 
The Mountaineers played three strong sets out of the four. In the second set they built momentum with strong play at the net and tied the match at one set apiece.
 
Late in the third set Mohawk had a five-point advantage and seemed to have the match in full control. However, St. Clair regained control to steal the set and the match.
 
Alex Jurak (St. Catharines, ON) had a team-high nine kills and four aces.
 
The Mountaineers will look to refocus when they play the Conestoga Condors on the road on Jan. 24 at 8 p.m.
