HAMILTON, Ont. – Mohawk Mountaineers women's volleyball head coach Jenny Pellegrino has announced the signing of Kendra Baker as the program's first recruit for the 2025 offseason.
Baker (Milton, Ont.) will join the Mountaineers for the 2025-26 season, bringing depth to the team's right side as Thea Spasic (Hamilton, Ont.) prepares to graduate.
"Kendra is going to be a dynamic presence on the right side as another left-handed player," said Pellegrino. "She's kind-hearted, a great teammate, and always willing to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed."
Entering her second year as head coach, Pellegrino emphasized that Baker is a perfect fit for the team's newly established culture.
"Our culture is centered around self-motivation and putting the team first," Pellegrino said. "Kendra will contribute not only on the court but also in the classroom, adding significant value to both areas."
Baker comes to Mohawk from Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School and Defensa Volleyball Club. As team captain at Bishop Reding, she helped lead the squad to the 2023 Halton Catholic Athletic Association Championship. In addition, Baker claimed a gold medal at the 2023 Ontario Volleyball Association Beach Championships.
This September, Baker will begin her studies in Business Administration – Marketing at Mohawk College.
