Softball announces commitment from top pitching recruit

HAMILTON, Ont. – Mohawk Mountaineers women's softball head coach Chris McColl has announced top pitching prospect Reese Koolen has committed to the program for 2026 and beyond.
 
Reese Koolen
Hometown: Union, Ont.
High School: Central Elgin Collegiate Institute
Position: Pitcher
Program: Business Administration – Human Resources
Club Team: Lucan-Ilderton Athletics (2020-present)
 
Career Highlights:
Koolen has helped her club team to multiple top provincial finishes, including gold in 2025, as the team went on to win bronze at Eastern Canadian Championships. In 2022, Koolen received the top player award from Ontario PWSA and she threw a perfect game in 2025.
