Lacrosse sixes introduces 2026 recruiting class

HAMILTON, Ont. – The Mohawk Mountaineers have announced the five student-athletes who make up the program's 2026 lacrosse sixes recruiting class.

The announcement comes after the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) confirmed in June that lacrosse sixes will operate as an exploratory sport in 2026, with four colleges participating in an exhibition season.

Mohawk became the first Canadian college to launch a lacrosse sixes program in 2023. Since then, the Mountaineers have competed in unofficial contests against Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) opponents and local men's senior club teams. The program has also appeared in two CUFLA Sixes Showcase games, including the most recent against the Humber Hawks, the second Ontario post-secondary institution to introduce a lacrosse sixes program.

The five newcomers join a talented Mountaineers roster that last season earned victories over the McMaster Marauders and Laurier Golden Hawks of CUFLA, while also posting a 2-0 record against Humber.
