HAMILTON, Ont. – Angong Jacob (Calgary, AB) and Maddie Anderson (Whitby, Ont.) of the Mohawk Mountaineers women's basketball team were both recognized for their outstanding performances at the 2025 CCAA Women's Basketball National Championship.
Jacob was named a CCAA Second Team All-Star after averaging 19.7 points per game, hitting eight three-pointers, and contributing five rebounds and 1.7 steals per game over three games.

Anderson was awarded the Exemplary Leadership Award, formerly known as the Fair Play Award. This honor recognizes a student-athlete who demonstrates leadership both on and off the court, emphasizing sportsmanship and fair play. Anderson played the full 40 minutes in each of Mohawk's three games, averaging 8.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
The Mountaineers had a strong showing at the CCAA Championship, securing a quarter-final victory over the VIU Mariners. Mohawk's tournament run came to an end in the semi-finals with a loss to the St. Mary's Lightning, followed by a bronze medal semi-final defeat to the Géants de Saint-Jean.
