Mohawk women’s basketball sign five recruits

HAMILTON, Ont. – After two consecutive OCAA medals, including a championship two seasons ago, the Mohawk Mountaineers women's basketball program and head coach Mihai Raducanu will look to keep building with the addition of five recruits ahead of the 2026-27 season.
 
The group of recruits features three older athletes and three high school commits.

Maria Lambropoulos
Hometown: Toronto, Ont.
High School: St. Augustine Catholic High School
Position: Guard/Forward
Program: Health, Wellness and Fitness
Previous School: Centennial College
 
Notable career highlights:
Lombropoulos comes to Mohawk after a season with the Centennial Colts. During the 2025-26 season, Lombropoulos appeared in 12 games, averaging 9.5 points and 5.1 rebounds. She scored a career-high 34 points in a January contest versus the Georgian Grizzlies and also scored 28 in a February win versus the St. Lawrence Surge.
 
Charli Babin
Hometown: Port Dover, Ont.
High School: Holy Trinity Catholic High School
Position: Guard
Program: Police Foundations
Previous School: Trent University
 
Notable career highlights:
Babin is a dual-sport athlete, coming to Mohawk from Trent University where they played rugby during the 2024-25 season.
 
Michelle Bismark
Hometown: Mississauga, Ont.
High School: St. Martin Secondary School
Position: Guard
Program: Paralegal
Club Team: Halton JUEL Prep
 
Why did you choose Mohawk?
"I chose to come to Mohawk because they showed me something I've never seen in a really long-time which was the love and support that the team and staff have for one another."
 
Kate de Vries
Hometown: St. Catharines, Ont.
High School: Eden High School
Position: Guard
Program: General Arts and Science
Club Team: Niagara JUEL
 
What is your ultimate goal as a post-secondary student-athlete?
"I want to grow my skills and knowledge for the game of basketball, while also learning to balance both academics and athletics."
 
Bella Rizza
Hometown: Ancaster, Ont.
High School: Ancaster High School
Position: Guard
Program: Pre-Health
Club Team: Halton JUEL
