Hall of Fame
In the history of Mohawk Athletics, no one has ever epitomized Mountaineer Spirit more than Bernetta Scime. A career Mountaineer, Bernetta came to Mohawk as a student–athlete in 1982, graduating after playing two years of Volleyball. ‘Bern’ started her employment at Mohawk after graduation, working in many College departments that would make her expertise invaluable to the Athletics Department operation, where she finally settled. Over the years, Bernetta volunteered as a Convenor in many OCAA sports, especially in her favourite sport of Volleyball. Mohawk recognized Bernetta in 2005 for her amazing commitment and contributions with the President’s Award of Excellence.
In 35 years of service to our students, Bernetta personally ensured over the years our student-athletes received awards and financial assistance that enhanced their experience and the profile of the Mountaineers Athletics across Canada. Bernetta’s legacy will always be the caring, compassion and support she enthusiastically offered to the thousands of students she met and was always willing to help.
