Ron was a valued member of the Mohawk Varsity Hockey team from 1967 to 1970. His outstanding leadership abilities were recognized by his teammates, as he was named the assistant captain for each of his three years on the team. Ron led the team in scoring each year and was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 1968. In the 1969 season, Ron won the division scoring title. Ron has continued to be a leader through his community involvement with minor hockey and baseball in his hometown.
