Tony Leite was a staple in the Mohawk Mountaineers badminton program for nearly two decades. Possessing all the characteristics a coach needs for a program to be successful, Tony helped numerous athletes achieve OCAA medals.
During multiple tenures with Mohawk, Tony was a leader for the student-athletes both on and off the court. Tony coached his athletes to 19 OCAA medals and four CCAA medals during 19 seasons. More than 50 per cent of Mohawk’s all-time badminton medals came with Tony as the coach. Under Tony’s guidance the Mountaineers won six OCAA golds, nine silvers and five bronze medals in singles and doubles competition, along with one CCAA gold, two silvers and one bronze.
