Pat Gavey returned home to Mohawk College after turning down a lucrative USA scholarship which our golf program was grateful for. Pat led the Mountaineers to an OCAA gold medal team performance in 1991 while capturing the OCAA individual silver medal. This was preceded by Pat’s OCAA bronze medal in 1989 where he made a fantastic save on the final hole to head to a 5 man playoff where he persevered to win the bronze. The class and character Pat Gavey exhibited with the Mountaineer golf program reflected the respect and recognition from his teammates at Mohawk and fellow competitors in the OCAA.
