Trevor McLaughlin is one of the most prolific and versatile athletes in the history of Mohawk men’s volleyball. A cornerstone of the program for five seasons (2012-2017), McLaughlin’s career was defined by exceptional skill, humility and an unwavering team-first mentality that elevated everyone around him.

Able to play multiple positions, McLaughlin’s adaptability and dedication often came at the expense of personal accolades, yet his impact remained undeniable. In 2016-17, he earned CCAA All-Canadian honours, was named OCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year, received OCAA First Team All-Star recognition and was selected as Mohawk’s Male Athlete of the Year. His excellence was also recognized in 2012-13 and 2015-16, when he was named an OCAA Championship All-Star.

McLaughlin graduated as Mohawk’s all-time leader in kills, points and matches played. He helped guide the Mountaineers to two OCAA gold medals, two silvers and a bronze during his tenure. Beyond college, he trained with the Canadian men’s national team and was drafted fifth overall in the One Volleyball Canadian Premier League.

Widely respected across the Canadian volleyball community, McLaughlin is often regarded as the most complete player in program history.
